These are the 8 things to implement immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-do-this\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"DO_THIS\"><\/span>DO THIS<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1 pagers are out of date<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 If you\u2019re early in your career (1 -3 YOE) a 1 page resume is fine. But don\u2019t be afraid to explain your role and accomplishments in detail. 2 page resumes for 3+ YOE will do fine.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Customize it for the company<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 boost your chances of success by ensuring your resume reflects the values of your target company as well as core keywords a recruiter would look for.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Focus on impact<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 And get quantitative. Recruiters want to see what you\u2019ve done, how you\u2019ve done it, and the results. So don\u2019t shy away from numbers.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Your tools\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0 Tech stacks matter and ensuring you come into a job knowing how to navigate the tools that are necessary for your function is critical. Look through the job description and think about the company when determining the tools to list.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Get Reviews<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Preferably a recruiter friend, or colleague in a similar role at a different company. You want your resume to be crisp with no errors before sending it across.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Send as PDF<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Save your resume as a PDF before applying. This will ensure that it retains formatting when it\u2019s received by your target company recruiter.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-don-t-do-this\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"DONT_DO_THIS\"><\/span>DON\u2019T DO THIS<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Paragraphs<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Stick to bullet points using a simplified version of the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result).<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Design<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Avoid this at all costs.
