Responsibilities
Broad materials & processes support for composite and soft goods hardware.
Advise customers on design options including material selection, process control, and qualification.
Review and propose edits to program documentation, specifications, and engineering drawings.
Assist with vendor selection and qualification efforts.
Generate system verification artifacts related to materials & process requirements.

Required
Bachelor of Science in Material Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline.
Five to seven years' experience with Materials & Process Engineering in the aerospace industry.
Knowledge of industry standards as related to Materials & Process Engineering (Mil, ASTM, AMS, SAE, AWS).
Knowledge of the various NASA standards as they relate to materials and process requirements (6016, 6030, 5009).
Demonstrated experience (M&P signatory authority) on a flight production program.
Experience with configuration management and quality management systems.
Familiar with composite, nonmetallic, and softgood materials specifications, properties, and testing.
Preferred
Previous experience with Materials & Process Engineering within the context of NASA human-rated spaceflight requirements.
Previous experience generating Material Usage and Identification Listings (MIULs) and Material Usage Agreements (MUAs) for NASA.
Previous experience qualifying materials for crewed systems in terms of corrosion prevention, flammability, and toxic offgassing.
Knowledge of approved material allowables databases (MAPTIS, MMPDS, JAHM, CMH-17, AGAT, NCAMP).
