Responsibilities

Working under the direction of the Chief Engineer to ensure the safe operation of all machinery, electrical, and technical areas of the vessel

Support the vessel engineering department in adhering to all safety and flag requirements

Complete all assigned work with the highest regard for safety

Support the Chief Engineer to ensure that main engines and associated machinery including electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning units on board the ship are operating efficiently

Ensure Chief Engineer is kept informed of the status of all equipment and work accomplished, including any SMS non-conformities

Keep detailed engine room logs noting all failures, maintenance, and repair done to equipment
