Responsibilities
Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, plans, specifications, contractual documents, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
Provides critical information about the current status of a project and accurately estimates how it will finish from a cost and revenue perspective from where it started
Works closely with Walkers/Superintendents regarding project planning, field leadership, work plan development, submissions, and approvals
Conducts recurring team meetings to stay aligned with the expectations and goals of a project
Manages complex material supplies and drafts scopes of work for subcontractors
Develop work plans and hazard analysis plans for crews to follow to execute the work safely
Understands and promotes innovation for cost and schedule improvements
Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, safety standards, and productivity goals
Performs complex construction designs - SOE, Hydraulics, PLC, Marine, etc
Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management. Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc
Ability to relocate as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil engineering, or engineering-related field
Minimum of 5 years' experience in heavy civil construction
Demonstrate the ability and behavior necessary to lead others in accomplishing individual and team goals
Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Strong communication and active listening skills
Strong ability to mentor team members
Supports safety in job performance and communication
Promotes a work environment that is professional and constructive
Ability to work well in a non-structured environment
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, database management, AutoCAD
Preferred
Experience with Bridge Construction strongly preferred
Marine construction experience is preferred
