Responsibilities
Manage all activities associated with the construction of an assigned project
Manage multiple projects of significant impact
Act as lead mentor to other members of project management team
Ensure that all contractual terms and obligations of projects are maintained
Meet with customers and vendors to identify potential barriers and find resolutions
Prepare reports for management and meet with key personnel to ensure project timeliness
Review plans and proposals and determine proper procedures to accomplish company goals
Properly document all aspects of projects to ensure company's interests are protected
Interface with necessary departments to determine the scheduling of work and materials
Meet and confer with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Detailers, and Plant and Field crews to verify accuracy and completeness of all construction drawings
Visit job site as needed and required, which may consist of out-of-state travel
Assure proper accounting for project change orders
Ensure projects meet cost requirements and obtain permission before approving out-of-budget costs
Meets with VP of PM and/or Exec VP Operations if costs exceed budget and obtains permission before approving out-of-budget costs

Required
HS Diploma or equivalent
10-15 years related experience as a Project/Construction Manager in the structural steel industry or 5 years related experience as a Project Coordinator/Engineer or Asst Proj Mgr along with 3 years detailing/drafting
A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in Construction Management, Structural/Civil Engineering, or Business may substitute for 3 years of the required experience
Experience as a fabricator or erector may substitute for detailing/drafting exp
Demonstrated knowledge of the fabrication and erection of structural steel
Proven ability to read and interpret shop and design blueprint drawings
Proven ability to manage large multiple commercial and industrial projects
General knowledge of 3D modeling / Tekla practices
