Responsibilities

Collaborate with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies

Lead a team of developers with expertise in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems

Utilize programming languages like SQL, Python, and tools like Databricks, Iceberg, Presto, GraphQL, and cloud-based data technologies

Share tech trends, experiment with new technologies, and mentor other engineering community members

Collaborate with data product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions driving powerful data experiences

Develop unit testing guidelines and conduct code reviews for performance optimization

Mentor and develop engineering associates to scale data product development efforts

Develop relationships with key stakeholders and peer architects to align with target architecture and data strategy

Own design and data governance decisions in partnership with Chief Architect and peer architects

Develop standards for publishing, modeling, and protecting data

Prioritize the long-term Data Product delivery roadmap to achieve business outcomes

Understand ontology and data models in the larger ecosystem and collaborate with tech leadership on technical decisions

Work with architecture to understand technical tradeoffs and impacts on Ontology and Data modeling

Required

Bachelor’s Degree

At least 8 years of experience in application development

At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies

At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Preferred

Master's Degree

9+ years of experience in application development including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java

4+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

5+ years experience with Distributed data/computing tools (Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark)

4+ year experience working on real-time data and streaming applications

4+ years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake)

4+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting

2+ years of devops experience

2+ years of experience with graphQL experience

2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices
