Responsibilities
Develop and publish specifications and design requirements for the vehicle to meet corrosion and water/air leakage requirements for all intended markets of sale.
Evaluate vehicle designs and assess the ability to meet corrosion and water/air leakage requirements.
Provide guidance to the engineering team on changes needed to meet corrosion and water/air leakage requirements.
Support the development of new specifications, requirements, and quality documents related to vehicle corrosion and BIW sealing.
Develop requirements for virtual and physical verification, including lab and field testing.
Lead/participate in root cause analysis and resolution of issues related to air and water leaks and corrosion protection.
Stay attuned to the customer experience and propose system improvements.
Support the creation of new Best Practices and Lessons Learned.
Be a key team member and liaison with all Scout functions.

Required
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, chemical engineering, or a relevant field
10+ years of experience in automotive corrosion engineering role
High level of knowledge of the corrosion performance requirements for all global markets
Strong technical skills and expertise in corrosion protection and BIW sealing, coupled with a 1st principles approach to problem solving
Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field
An ability to build strong working relationships with people across all organizational levels
