Responsibilities
Translate concepts into wire frames and mock ups that lead to intuitive user experiences.
Facilitate the customer and product owner product visions by researching, conceiving, wire framing, sketching, prototyping, mocking up and testing user experiences.
Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
Collaborate with stakeholders and customers and with a cross-functional team of designers, product managers, and engineers on all phases of the product development life cycle
Incorporate best practices for accessibility, usability, web performance, and design into our products and ultimately champion a more consistent and delightful user experience.
Establish standard processes, style guides and component libraries and provide mentorship to other front-end engineers and lead designers in all aspects of UX development.
Reviewing other designers work products for compliance and consistency
Use appropriate research methodology, tools, and protocols to conduct user-centered research.
Perform subjective and objective research both qualitatively and quantitatively, to gather deep end-user understanding.

Required
Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience
Experience with user research methods, creating personas, journey maps, and user flow diagrams
Experience with design tools such as Figma
Experience with Atomic design methodology
Experience in setting up component libraries and approving designs based on US Web Design System (USWDS) guidelines
Experience with CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap, Foundation, or similar
Experience with 508a requirements and testing tools
Experience employing an iterative, user-centric design process in UX design and interactive prototyping
Experience defining interaction models, creating user flows, storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes
Experience using design thinking, Agile concepts, and product management principles to develop customer-focused software products
Experience with visual design/interaction design creating and implementing user interfaces based on user data gathering
Strong analytical skills to understand and translate business requirements to product features
Ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business environments
Ability to work independently and efficiently in a high-paced environment
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Preferred
Experience with Jira and Confluence
User Experience Design Certificate(s)
Advanced degree or equivalent experience in Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Media Design, Fine Arts, or related field
Prefer candidates in eastern, central, or mountain time zones
Experience supporting US government customers
