Responsibilities

Coordinating the actions of diverse groups for planning, design and construction components of facilities projects, such as project/scope approval, site approval and waivers for design exceptions.
Providing subject matter expert-level guidance to engineers, architects, and technicians on architectural and engineering methods for the design, repair, alteration, rehabilitation, installation, improvement, or demolition of facilities.
Conducting architectural and/or engineering studies and investigations which form the basis for funding future projects.
Reviewing architectural and engineering plans and designs for accuracy, adequacy, and economy of design, choice of materials, completeness, practicability, and safety as well as to determine conformance technical guidance, criteria, and good construction practice.

Required

Current registration as a Professional Engineer OR Professional Architect in the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or any State in the U.S.
At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience in coordinating diverse groups for planning, design, and construction components of facilities projects
Providing expert-level guidance on architectural and engineering methods for facilities design, repair, alteration, rehabilitation, installation, improvement, or demolition
Conducting architectural and/or engineering studies and investigations for funding future projects
Reviewing architectural and engineering plans and designs for accuracy, adequacy, economy of design, choice of materials, completeness, practicability, and safety
