Responsibilities

Build, lead, and mentor a world-class engineering team focused on delivering customer value through rapid iterations

Provide hands-on support to projects and initiatives as needed

Establish a technical strategy and roadmap for the team and its products, providing thought leadership

Set clear quality goals in a data-driven manner and foster a culture of continuous engineering improvement

Own the technical design, development, and operational effectiveness of innovative applications meeting business needs

Ensure adherence to software development lifecycle and architectural best practices

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define strategies and product scopes throughout the lifecycle

Contribute to a culture of modern software development methodologies and architectural excellence

Required

7+ years of software engineering experience including e-commerce, enterprise systems, and warehouse management platforms

3+ years management experience with hands-on architecture experience

4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience within a large scale, highly available, cloud-based environment (AWS preferred)

Strong leadership and mentoring experience managing 5+ person local/remote onshore/offshore engineering team

Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality solutions in a high growth environment where priorities shift rapidly

Deep experience with the Agile/Scrum SDLC processes through the entire SDLC: software design, coding, unit test, integration test, build and release

Experience designing and building various APIs (REST, JSON-RPC, GRPC, GraphQL, etc.)

Experience with software languages such as Node, C#, GoLang

Experience with SQL databases including SQL Server and stored procedures

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Eager and adaptable to change. Works with little guidance and direction. Able to navigate complex systems with ease

Must be technically credible to lead teams of architects, software engineers, and dev ops to make the right design decisions and technology choices
