Responsibilities
Lead problem solving and root cause identification efforts for nonconforming product and customer complaints.
Work with other departments, such as Production, R&D, Planning and Procurement to develop and implement corrective action plans.
Verify effectiveness of corrective actions through various methods, such as audits and data collection and analysis.
Review and improve as needed the current QC test methods and procedures.
Work with R&D to develop quality standards and testing protocols for customer/product trials and qualifications.
Track and report quality metrics to the Quality Manager.
Visit customers and suppliers if necessary for quality incident investigations. May travel up to 25%.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Minimum 2 years’ experience in packaging manufacturing specifically in a Quality Engineering role
Proficient in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
Understanding of process capability and validation
Auditing experience required
Comprehensive knowledge of a Quality Management System and global standards, such as GFSI and ISO 9001
Self-motivated and able to multi-task and change priorities as issues arise
Excellent computer skills, particularly in the use of spreadsheets, databases, and statistical applications such as Minitab
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, including the ability to facilitate teams and work successfully in a team environment
