Responsibilities

Leads research, development, and integration programs for software-controlled electro-optical capital equipment.
Promotes collaboration across R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, and Operation teams.
Develops, maintains, and executes project plans in accordance with STERIS procedures and standards.
Identifies and mitigates risks associated with medical device development, regulatory compliance, and market adoption.
Monitors project progress, identifies potential risks, and develops mitigation strategies.
Coordinates technical discussions and reviews to expedite solutions and implementation.
Coordinates and allocates resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
Conducts regular status meetings, communicating program strategy, status, risks, next steps, and more to program stakeholders and senior leadership.
Identifies and tracks key performance indicators for reporting and data-driven decision-making.
Oversees creation of design history file and device master record.
Promotes a culture of continuous improvement by evaluating project outcomes and implementing lessons learned.
Travels up to 10%, including internationally.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physics, or other science.
Requires 12+ years of progressive experience in working on and then leading engineering projects.
Five or more years of engineering project or program management.
Five or more years of experience working in the medical device industry or other regulated industry which require formalized development processes strongly desired.
Strong influence skills with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships and complete tasks without direct accountability.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively manage cross functional teams.
Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and address challenges proactively.
Exceptional team player and adept with conflict management.
Excellent formal presentation skills before small and large groups.

Preferred

Advanced degree in related field is preferred.
PMP Certification or training in project management is desirable.
