Responsibilities
Building out the next generation practice management platform
Collaborating with the Product team to understand customer needs, troubleshoot potential problems, and define upcoming features
Writing clean, efficient, well-tested code that improves the code base
Helping diagnose problems and architecting solutions
Mentoring junior and senior engineers on quality coding practices and high-velocity delivery

Required
10+ years experience with Ruby on Rails development, 3+ years in a senior or team-lead role
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our software applications using Ruby on Rails and Ember.js (or other modern frontend frameworks)
Experience taking monoliths to their limits, and knows how to make informed decisions about architecture changes (e.g. monolithic → microservices), considering factors such as scalability, maintainability, and business needs.
Leverage expertise in Kubernetes for handling containerized applications, guaranteeing smooth deployment, scaling, and administration of applications.
Handle high-traffic applications, optimizing for performance and ensuring robustness and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Demonstrate a business-minded approach to engineering, balancing technical excellence with business needs and timelines.
Be willing to dive deep into complex and challenging tasks, demonstrating problem-solving skills and a commitment to quality.
Mentor junior team members, sharing expertise and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Preferred
Solid understanding of web application security and best practices
Working knowledge of managing MySQL/Postgres/Redis/NGINX
Confident working with production environments to help troubleshoot problems
Experience with compliance standards PCI/HIPAA
