Responsibilities

Architect, prototype, build and test new features and functionality for online vision tests and vision care platform.
Implement the new vision care platform including new vision tests, intuitive user experiences, and supporting cloud tooling.
Meet stringent code, source control, and documentation standards as required by health care industry law.
Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the Product and management teams.

Required

8+ years of experience in software engineering
MS in Computer Science or equivalent
Strong ownership and results-driven mentality
SaMD start-up/entrepreneurial experience preferred
AWS Certification with in-depth knowledge of managing and operating AWS accounts and services (S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Route 53, CloudFront, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, etc.)
In depth knowledge of backend Node.js and Python
In-depth knowledge frontend HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries (React/Redux, TailwindUI)
Know how to craft effective unit and integration test suites for JavaScript and React codebases, using Jest or similar
Experience designing, managing, and “serverless” AWS resources (not EC2) infrastructure using CDK
Expertise building automated CI/CD pipelines using tools like Github Actions or CircleCI

A keen eye for UI/UX and high visual standards
