Responsibilities

Create top-down master, skeleton, and kinematic models to capture Industrial Design Intent and develop functional CAD models and prototypes.

Apply finite element analysis (FEA) for comparative design purposes.

Design parts and assemblies for manufacturability, assembly, and cost optimization.

Participate in creative and technical brainstorms to achieve design targets.

Utilize manufacturing knowledge for plastic injection molding, metal bending, and hardware.

Use rapid prototyping tools to validate design concepts and functionality.

Modify and iterate designs based on product requirements.

Manage product data in a Product Lifecycle Management system.

Create innovative designs that lead to superior products and intellectual property.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)

5-8 years of product development or product design engineering experience

Demonstrated ability to bring products to market

Demonstrates proficiency in CAD (Creo preferred)

Demonstrates knowledge and portfolio of how to solve real-world problems using CAD and other tools

Demonstrates understanding of applicable manufacturing processing (injection molding, metal forming, etc.)

Demonstrates strong interpersonal and cross-functional skills

Demonstrates excellent communication skills-verbal and written

Demonstrates ability to perform in a team environment

Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Powerpoint, and Excel)

A short portfolio of previous engineering design experience (work, school, or personal projects) is required to be submitted with the application

Preferred

Knowledge of manufacturing methods for plastic injection mold design and tube/wire/sheet metal bending is a plus

Knowledge of softgoods assembly to hardgoods is a plus

Knowledge of electronics and how to integrate them into a design is a plus

Knowledge of programming (firmware, software, AI) is a plus

Experience working with Industrial Designers is a plus
