Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the backend engineering team.
Drive the development and implementation of best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles.
Architect scalable and high-performance backend systems that meet current and future business needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust, efficient, and maintainable solutions.
Conduct regular code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Optimize existing backend systems for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
Implement and advocate for best practices in scaling backend infrastructure.
Collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver optimal solutions.
Communicate technical concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical team members.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Identify opportunities for innovation and research to enhance backend systems.

Required
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
10 years minimum of experience in backend engineering, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex systems.
Expertise in backend technologies such as Python, Java, etc
Strong focus on AWS (e.g. lambdas, step functions, RDS) required & experience with Databricks.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
Experience building data lakes & data warehouses.
Experience Working With a Business Operational/financial Tool Required.
Leadership experience, including mentoring, coaching, and guiding engineering teams.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred
Experience as a lead engineer in a start-up environment is highly desired.
