Responsibilities

Respond to customer technical questions quickly and translate customer needs into solutions.

Recognize and communicate trends in customer requirements.

Assist customers with their manufacturing challenges.

Communicate and document customer needs and issues to technical and manufacturing personnel.

Support the commercial team by representing the company’s value proposition to customers.

Maintain alertness for potential new product development opportunities.

Perform audits as scheduled by Quality Systems.

Attend and participate in relevant technical/industry society meetings.

Live with a safety-first mindset and maintain a zero-injury workplace standard.

Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required

Four-year college degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field highly preferred. High School diploma required.

Minimum of three years’ experience as Metallurgist or equivalent experience.

Experience managing projects and teams.

Experience monitoring and controlling costs for own work and projects.

Advanced knowledge of metallurgical principles, standards, methods, and practices.

Advanced knowledge of metallurgical and production equipment.

Knowledge of the newest and latest technologies available.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; dealing with internal and external customers.

Problem-solving skills - solves a range of problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions and assesses each using standard procedures.
