Responsibilities
Collaborate with various teams within Flatiron to provide legal guidance on research activities and regulatory matters
Lead the drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and closing of corporate and commercial transactions
Represent Flatiron in interactions with clients, partners, and vendors
Provide legal solutions for all areas of the business and review legal risks and opportunities
Assist with healthcare regulatory matters and compliance policy development
Develop and maintain updated template agreements and legal frameworks
Build training processes for teams to execute within a clear legal framework

Required
JD Degree and are a member and in good standing of any State Bar
Ability to work independently and exercise excellent judgment
Practical experience advising on legal and contractual issues for data licensing and clinical studies
Experience drafting and negotiating agreements including licensing agreements, collaboration agreements, confidentiality agreements, consulting agreements, research agreements, and other related agreements
Extraordinary interpersonal skills and ability to provide sound, practical, clear and succinct legal advice and analysis to legal and business teams in both verbal and written forms
Ability to multitask, work under tight time pressures, prioritize work, and react quickly to changing business needs and demands all in a fast-paced, high-growth business environment
Demonstrated track record of being a team-player and working collaboratively
Ability to maintain an independent and objective perspective while developing and maintaining a strong partnership with the client organizations
Intellectually nimble thinker and highly adaptable
Preferred
Trained within the life sciences or health care transactional departments of a top-tier law firm
Familiarity with privacy-related matters, including secondary use of data and general HIPAA-related compliance
