Responsibilities

Execute substation physical projects for various clients including utilities, power producers, and commercial customers.
Read and design substation physical drawings such as one-line, three-line, foundation, and grounding drawings.
Perform QA/QC checks on substation physical design projects and create bill of materials.
Collaborate with the design team and adhere to client standards and engineering guidelines.
Maintain compliance with quality control, safety practices, project scope, schedule, and budget.

Required

Entry-Level: associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related degree with three or more years of related substation physical design experience
Mid/Senior-Level: associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related degree with six or more years of related substation physical design experience
Senior/Lead-Level: associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related degree with ten or more years of related substation physical design experience
Experience with grounding studies/lightning protection and lighting studies
Experience in substation design (medium, high, and extra-high voltage) and IEEE/ANSI standards
Strong analytical skills and proven problem solver in both team and independent environments
A high level of technical competency which may include: WinIGS, CDEGS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit
Proficiency with SEL or GE relays
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with the internal team and clients to meet project needs and deadlines
Collaborator and leader who can work effectively in a team environment.
Self-starter who works independently with minimal direction
Willingness to travel to project and/or client sites

Preferred

Engineer in Training (EIT) professional certification
Professional Engineer (PE) License
Experience with bus calculation
Master's degree in a related field
