Responsibilities

Construct, modify, install, repair, and maintain all tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and sample products.

Set up, adjust, and operate various manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders to produce parts to the required tolerances.

Perform diversified machining operations and prescribe operational sequences and procedures to manufacture parts to specifications.

Read and understand blueprints to produce parts within required tolerances.

Perform first-piece inspection and subsequent inspections to ensure overall quality of parts.

Take care of routine maintenance and keep the work area clean and neat.

Follow safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding.

Maintain reports on productivity, quality, and safety.

Required

Ability to read and understand blueprints and produce parts within required tolerances

Experience in setting up, adjusting, and operating manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders

Ability to perform diversified machining operations and prescribe operational sequences to manufacture parts to specifications

Experience in first-piece inspection and subsequent inspections to ensure quality

Knowledge and ability to use micrometers and dial calipers for quality control

Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs frequently

Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare production reports

Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts

Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment properly
