Responsibilities

Reads production schedule and plans accordingly.

Maintains the operation of packaging machinery efficiently by monitoring codes, dates, and prices.

Adjusts machine settings as needed to ensure efficiency and low waste operation.

Understands and operates packaging equipment efficiently, including setups, changeovers, running, adjustments, and cleanup.

Monitors and adjusts machines for proper cut off of film and seals.

Keeps machines and work areas clean and reports maintenance problems.

Follows safety and hygiene guidelines, stores supplies, and ensures clear work areas.

May provide leadership, perform as Back-up Packaging Coordinator, or monitor seasoning.

May be required to work overtime and perform other duties as needed.

Required

High School Diploma or GED and/or 1-year production experience in a manufacturing environment required.

Candidate must be comfortable communicating to team members and management staff.

Complete training and any applicable examinations.

Must be able to comply with the physical demands of constantly lifting and moving stock by hand or with manual equipment (including pallet jacks and forklifts). Ability to lift 40+ lbs. on a regular basis, and occasionally be able to lift/move more than 50+ lbs. with mechanical or peer assistance.

Preferred

Forklift Certification obtained.
