Responsibilities

Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables, including process/mass balance calculations, design criteria/basis of design memoranda, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, tradeoff studies, and master planning studies

Supports multiple projects simultaneously with complex technical challenges

Serves as a technical specialist providing guidance in water treatment systems

Performs complex research activities involving bench, pilot, and full-scale testing for treatment processes

Develops recommendations for treatment processes, equipment, and materials selection

Manages data collection, assimilation, analysis, and process design work

Prepares engineering calculations following standard methods and principles

Reviews or manages the work of junior engineers

Responsible for identifying client interests and drivers for projects

Communicates client interests to project team members and develops solutions

Provides support to business development activities and attends conferences for thought leadership

Fosters knowledge management and provides mentoring to junior engineers

Assists with performance management and career development of junior staff

Provides guidance on engineering standards and codes related to water treatment

Ensures compliance with quality program and supports continuous improvement efforts

Implements resource management strategy and manages engineering resources

Ensures effective implementation of policies, procedures, and processes for workgroup

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program

Minimum of 8 years related work experience

Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search

Professional engineering license from any of the states in the USA or ability to obtain one within 2 years of employment

Preferred

Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering

10 years of experience in drinking water treatment with at least 5 years in water quality and treatment

Advanced knowledge of process design for treatment of municipal effluent for reuse, brackish and seawater desalination, brine management, engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline

Established leadership skills with deep understanding of consulting, project execution, client services, and business development

Effective written and oral communications, Drive for Results, Priority Setting, Planning, Delegation, Directing Others, Conflict Management, Informing, Listening, Dealing with Ambiguity, And Building Effective Teams
