Responsibilities

Implement customer facing ingestion-focused features in the Unit21 backend system, working with RESTful APIs and databases

Work with other engineers to design scalable systems and services from the ground up with well-defined interfaces

When on-call, monitor production system, react to and resolve incidents

Review other engineers' code and provide feedback

Communicate with product managers, sometimes customers to clarify requirements and provide solutions

Required

4+ Years of experience in one or more object-oriented languages, such as Python, Java, Scala, C#, etc.

Experience in developing and owning end-to-end APIs, data-flows, and infrastructure for consumer or enterprise products

Proficiency in one or more RDBMS, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, etc.

Familiarity with one or more NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Neo4j, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, etc

Proficiency with data modeling and performant data access strategies

Proficiency with API design and optimization

Experience in rotational on call schedule to support P0 issues

Hustle, curiosity, humility

Preferred

Professional experience with some or all of our stack: PostgreSQL, Python, Elasticsearch, Delta Lake, AWS, Terraform, React

Experience with making product decisions

Experience with autonomous, self-directed work

Strong communication skills

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields
