Temporary Marketing Events Coordinator

Responsibilities
Support the events team.
Oversee and coordinate events for external and internal audiences.
Serve as a lead or support person for event production, including list development, invite creation, promotion, vendor management, logistics, and post-event evaluation.
Ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of events.
Recommend innovative solutions for event programs and execution.
Liaise with internal departments for event coordination.
Develop meaningful metrics for event efficiency and value demonstration.
Manage vendor relationships and selection process.
Collaborate with business development for client events.
Manage events and promotional items budget.
Process vendor invoices, manage expenses, and participate in department initiatives.
Maintain strong relationships with sponsors and vendors.
Handle multiple projects, demonstrate problem-solving skills, and possess exemplary writing ability.
Communicate effectively with clients, firm members, and business contacts.
Have a basic understanding of technology industries.
Be proficient in MS Office Products and pay attention to detail.
Remain productive under pressure, work independently, and provide proactive support to the Events team.
Contribute ideas and anticipate obstacles and opportunities within the role.
Travel to work events as necessary, including evenings and weekends.

Required
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with sponsorship partners and outside vendors.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and strong problem-solving skills.
Exemplary writing ability: solid grammar, spelling and proofreading skills required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships and communicate verbally and in writing in a professional, courteous manner with clients, firm members, and other business contacts.
Basic understanding of technology industries (software, mobile, life sciences, cleantech, etc.).
Intermediate proficiency with MS Office Products (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
Ability to pay close attention to detail and be highly organized and accurate.
Ability to remain productive and accurate under pressure with tight deadlines.
Self-motivated, takes initiative and can work independently.
A strong client service ethic and the ability to react quickly to requests from lawyers and leadership at all levels.
Strong desire to grow in the position, be proactive in support of the Events team, contribute ideas and anticipate obstacles and opportunities within the scope of the position.
Must be willing and able to travel to work events as necessary with some evening and weekend programs.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Hospitality Management, or related field strongly desired.
Preferred
Proven track record of working seamlessly/directly with partners and executives on event planning and execution is preferred.
The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of meeting and/or event planning experience.
Law firm or professional services firm experience and experience working with an event management platform a plus.
