Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of network architectures, considering factors such as scalability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
Evaluate new technologies and solutions to enhance network capabilities and address emerging business requirements.
Configure and deploy network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, adhering to industry best practices and security standards.
Develop and maintain documentation related to network configurations, topologies, and operational procedures.
Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and access control lists.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities and risks.
Monitor network performance and utilization, proactively identify bottlenecks or issues, and implement optimizations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Implement network monitoring tools and dashboards to provide real-time visibility into network health and performance metrics.
Troubleshoot complex network issues, including connectivity problems, routing errors, and performance degradation, and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve network-related incidents and outages, adhering to established SLAs.
Conduct capacity planning assessments to forecast future network growth and resource requirements.
Design and implement scalable network solutions to accommodate business growth and evolving technology trends.
Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements and align network solutions with organizational goals.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, fostering their professional development and knowledge of networking technologies.

Required
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, Cloud computing and DNS.
Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, etc.
Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption, and secure authentication mechanisms.
Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Zabbix).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to travel 15% of time.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; or relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CISSP) and 7+ years of Network Engineering experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience (5+ years) in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-scale network infrastructure.
Relevant hands-on management experience in a multi vendor networking/cloud environment (Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Ruckus, AWS services, etc)
Experience working in pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing industry (GxP knowledge and experience preferred).
Experience executing on transformation initiatives, such as network support model development and hybrid network operations (Cloud and On premise).
Solid understanding of Information and Operations technology (IT/OT) and the application of industry standard segmentation and network management strategies.
Experience with leading IT network integrations, Mergers and Acquisitions is preferred.
