Responsibilities

Design and develop advanced machine learning models, model evaluation systems, and automated model training and deployment solutions.

Design and develop high throughput batch inferencing solutions as well as distributed, low latency real-time inferencing services.

Build efficient and robust systems to collect and prepare data for evaluation and model training.

Conduct research to identify, evaluate, and build features that improve model performance.

Evaluate and recommend opportunities to leverage data to grow the business and delight customers.

Collaborate with technical and nontechnical colleagues, including data scientists, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to drive the successful implementation of machine learning projects.

Coach and mentor other ML engineers and contribute to our culture of learning, innovation, and operational excellence.

Required

9+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning, data science, and analytics with a consistent track record of successfully leading complex projects and deploying robust solutions into production environments.

Extensive knowledge of ML algorithms, including a deep understanding of statistical modeling, and Python development tooling and libraries (Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, Pytest, PySpark, SQL, Airflow, MLflow, Hugging Face Transformers, Tensorflow or PyTorch).

Experience with LLMs, preferably including commercial solutions such as OpenAI API, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, or open source models and frameworks like Hugging Face, LangChain, Llama-2, Falcon, Dolly, etc.

Demonstrated ability to mentor ML engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply creative solutions to real-world challenges.

Comfortable experimenting with and incorporating cutting-edge techniques into our existing system.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

A Masters or Ph. D in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or related field is preferred.

Sense of humor (optional but appreciated).
