Responsibilities
Oversees and facilitates internal and external client programs, events, conference sponsorships, exhibits, and educational (CLE/CPE) events.
Works with CPD team members to develop program and event objectives, logistics, and budgets.
Works with CPD team to incorporate all marketing avenues prior to, during, and after programs in support of messaging and objectives.
Researches, recommends, and selects event sites and activities that support event objectives and budgets. Anticipates, develops, and implements contingency plans as needed.
Negotiates and manages vendor contracts as they relate to specific events. Manages vendor relationships and ensures that services and materials are professional and appropriately reflect firm standards.
Develops event specifications and timelines, and ensures that all event-specific deadlines are met.
Manages logistics planning including agenda/program development, food and beverage menu selections, air and ground transportation arrangements, registration and housing processes, and audiovisual/technical needs.
Manages all aspects of event-specific budgeting, tracking, and event expenditures to stay within the approved budget.
Tracks attendance, registration, hotel performance, and attendee satisfaction.
Prepares and compiles routine and ad hoc status reports on group activities, such as meeting statistics and metrics.
Develops and manages checklists for events and ensures consistent and proper execution.
Manages onsite meetings and events, including oversight of vendors. Troubleshoots and seamlessly resolves onsite problems.
Completes post-program/event tasks to include ROI, reconciliation of expenses, evaluation of vendors, event evaluation, and report on meeting results.
Documents program and event processes.
Other duties, as assigned.

Required
College degree in communications, marketing, public relations or hospitality management.
Minimum six to eight years of related experience in the meetings or events industry. Previous experience with a law firm or other professional services firm is required.
Knowledge of marketing and meetings and events management.
Knowledge of meetings/events industry contracting standards and practices.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with online registration systems; familiarity with client/contact management database.
Ability to prioritize tasks; strong organizational and project management skills; attention to detail; ability to work well under pressure; ability to meet deadlines; excellent writing and communication skills – must be able to communicate effectively with attorneys, firm executives, and outside vendors.
Strong client-service orientation. Position requires overtime and occasional weekends. Some travel is required.
