Responsibilities

Deliver the next generation open source cloud native deployment framework.

Establish engineering processes and drive technology choices to deliver a performant, resilient, secure product that we are happy to share with the open-source community. Demonstrate deep understanding of the up and downstream effects of these choices.

Engage with internal partner teams to enable new technology across a broad range of services.

Build bridges between groups, providing team, community, and industry leadership and help define strategy. Enable cross team communications and resolve conflicts between teams.

Engage and contribute to the open-source community built around your project.

Be a proactive technical leader, engaged with mentoring and identifying friction areas for members of the team.

Lead incorporation of appropriate continuous feedback loops measuring customer value, usage patterns, and other actionable metrics of value.

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Rust, Go, Java, JavaScript, or Python

OR equivalent experience

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred

Experience building complex orchestration frameworks in the cloud native computing space

Deep experience in Go and C#

Experience with Kubernetes and cloud provisioning frameworks

Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
