Responsibilities
Overall management and leadership of capital projects from concept through project close-out.
Coordination with customers, consultants, and agencies, and maintenance of project documentation.
Design and construction contract administration for complex wastewater projects.
Serving as Construction Manager responsible for bidding and construction contract administration.
Providing outstanding customer service and promoting safety and collaboration with stakeholders.
Staying abreast of technical codes and safety regulations, and ensuring project success.

Required
Graduation from a four-year college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technologies with a bachelor's degree in the appropriate engineering or architectural field; plus four years of progressively responsible professional experience in the appropriate engineering field.
Possession of a valid Virginia Professional Engineer or Architect license.
A valid driver's license.
Ability to hear and properly respond to typical construction alarms and verbal warnings on active construction sites.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds with assistance.
Ability to produce organized and legible handwritten, typed/computer-generated documents including the use of graphics.
Must be able to physically negotiate rough terrain and typical construction sites to perform field inspections at project construction sites or potential sites for future facilities.
Ability to walk steep grades and off-street terrain.
Preferred
At least 4 years of experience procuring, administering, and managing architectural/engineering and/or construction contracts in the water and wastewater fields.
Experience with financial and budgetary planning, tracking, and reporting at the project and program level.
At least 4 years of experience managing multiple capital projects in design and construction on projects ranging from small renovations and upgrades to new stand-alone facilities. Experience includes consultant selection, negotiations, contract management, planning, budget and schedule development, site assessment, coordination of property acquisition for public use, quality control, and construction administration.
Project management experience with the approval and permitting phases of the development process, including land use and entitlement process to ensure approvals are in line with county proprietary and regulatory requirements.
At least 3 years of professional engineering experience with local, federal, and state building and site development codes.
Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
