Responsibilities
Engage with clients and staff on technical issues associated with stormwater and flood control engineering services on projects ranging from drainage studies for small individual sites, through city-wide and regional stormwater master plans.
Develop and manage client relationships, technical teams, and stormwater projects.
Provide services for all phases of a project including planning, modeling, design, and engineering during bidding and construction.
Mentor junior staff in the skills and practices necessary for success in these areas of responsibility.

Required
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil, Water Resources, and/or Environmental Engineering.
Five to seven years or more experience in civil engineering consulting or engineering management.
Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling experience using XPSWMM, HEC HMS, HEC RAS, EPA SWMM, Mike Urban, InfoWorks, and/or other modelling programs.
Ability to prepare well written master plans, studies, and technical memoranda that concisely communicate technical and non-technical analyses and conclusions.
Be able to successfully market clients and win competitive and sole source projects preferably in the Bay Area and/or the Sacramento region.
Participate with professional engineering organizations or associations, like the California Stormwater Quality Association or the Floodplain Managers Association.
Experience with GIS. Experience with AutoCAD is also valuable but not required.
Experience with climate change and sea level rise.
PE licensure in the State of California or ability to obtain PE licensure within one year of hire.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Ability to prepare engineering calculations, compile plans, and organize basic designs.
Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred
Experience with “Green Infrastructure” planning and design and/or other types of waterway naturalization projects.
Experience with pursuing grant funding for projects and/or managing grant funded projects.
Experience with AutoCAD is also valuable but not required.
