Responsibilities

Help review and design systems that improve the security of application software and infrastructure.

Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses, particularly in cloud environments.

Manage and implement patch management processes to ensure timely and effective security updates across all systems and applications.

Monitor and analyze security alerts and incidents, responding promptly to mitigate threats and vulnerabilities in GCP and AWS.

Administer and maintain security systems and tools, including software updates, configuration and control reviews.

Build tools and automation to manage and enforce security policies, automate processes at scale.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security measures are integrated into the development and deployment processes for cloud-based applications and services.

Analyze, assess, and respond to various internet threats, both proactively and reactively.

Partner with other engineers to design and build effective security tools by sharing high-level understanding of security policy, risk, and/or access management.

Document information security policies, procedures, and tests.

Contribute to security engineering planning and execution.

Monitor, detect, and report any threats directed against the GoGuardian’s networks and systems

Required

5+ years of experience in Information Security

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field preferred

Experience with one or more core security concepts: application security; operating systems security; authentication, authorization, and identity systems; secure coding practices; network and web security protocols

Demonstrated expertise in patch management processes, including vulnerability assessment, testing, and deployment

Strong experience with Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tools

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), particularly security-related features such as: IAM; key management; network management; audit logging

Familiarity with security frameworks such as the NIST, ISO 27001/2, or equivalent

Experience scripting and coding to implement and/or verify security solutions. Go (Golang), Javascript, Python, Java/Scala, or shell scripting languages are preferred
