Responsibilities

Manage and lead a platform engineering team which supports the development of performant and reliable applications across FanDuel.

Lead conversations to remove blockers and foster collaboration across teams.

Collaborate with various cross-functional software engineering teams to enhance and unify the overarching engineering culture.

Translate overarching strategic goals into actionable and detailed plans that can be readily implemented by engineers.

Demonstrate technical leadership across the organization.

Shape and enact standards and baselines for uplifting engineering across FanDuel.

Under your guidance, supervise the development and implementation of engineering tools seamlessly integrated into the Development Lifecycle.

Required

Proficient experience in programming languages (e.g. Go, Python, Java, Javascript/Typescript, etc..)

Strong experience with delivering programs and projects via tools like Jira

Transform strategic objectives into actionable programs of work, leading to the execution of effective and successful outcomes

Proficient in developing applications & identifying patterns related to Platform engineering, Infrastructure engineering, Devops, etc..

Experience with tools such as Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation, etc..

Deep familiarity with distributed microservice architecture components & patterns (for example: protobuf, OpenAPI, thrift, API Gateways, microservice mesh, etc..)

Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform or OpenTofu)

Strong verbal and written communication skills
