Responsibilities
Monitor construction activities to ensure design, specifications, and contracts are followed and that work is done according to schedule and within budget;
Ensure contractors, sub-contractors and their employees are complying with safety & environmental regulations and requirements of the contract;
Attend pre-bid and preconstruction meetings, documenting minutes;
Prepare job planning documentation working closely with project stakeholders;
Provide inspection of all work in place to ensure that work performed is in accordance with the contract drawings, specifications, regulatory requirements and applicable codes;
Prepare and submit daily construction reports, reporting on health & safety, environmental, and construction progress;
Recommend corrective courses of action to management as issues arise;
Recommend changes in the work plan if efficiencies in work practices can be improved;
Assess the quality of the safety & environmental discussions and written daily job plans;
Conduct Safe Work and Environmental Observations on medium and high-risk work;
Attend all Contractor's Health, Safety and Environmental Meetings;
Conduct contractor post-work evaluations in regards to health and safety, environmental, technical, project management and financial performance.

Required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; Electrical Preferred
Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in engineering or construction management
Experience/exposure in the hydropower, wind power or power generation field preferred
Field experience related to the hazards associated with the work
Training in occupational health & safety and environmental regulation
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products
This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver's license
Preferred
EIT and Professional Engineer (PE), preferred but not required
