Responsibilities

Build Verifications Platform through distributed services

Minimize fraud losses to Upstart through better data and ML models

Automate approvals for borrowers

Improve UI experience for operations teams and applicants

Assist in building models that predict excess credit risk

Required

4+ years of experience developing full stack web applications professionally

Proficiency with either Kotlin, Ruby on Rails, or Python and at least one other programming language

Proficiency with React

Solid grasp of software development principles and best practices for creating scalable and maintainable systems

Proven ability to effectively analyze and solve complex problems

Preferred

Experience with Kotlin, Ruby, AWS, UI development, and Databricks

Experience with Next.js and Vercel

Strong sense of ownership and accountability for the quality and timely delivery of work

Ability to thrive both in self-directed work environments and in collaborative settings, contributing positively to team dynamics

Demonstrated ability to take feedback well and actively incorporate it into work with a desire to continuously improve
