Responsibilities

Design mechanical architectures and components for high-volume consumer electronics with high reliability, highly constrained industrial design, and aggressive BOM cost targets

Mentor junior engineers and promote good product design practices

Develop mechanical designs from initial concept through mass production

Prototype designs using appropriate methodologies (FDM, SLA, CNC, etc.)

Engage with cross-functional teams including Industrial Design, Product Management, Reliability, and Manufacturing to achieve product objectives

Identify and initiate investigations of new technologies, prototype and test solutions for product features, and design and validate production designs for an exceptional customer experience

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

5+ years of experience in electro-mechanical product design

Experience with design of plastic and sheet metal parts

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of tolerance analysis and statistical process control

Proficiency with mechanical CAD software (preferably Creo or SolidWorks)

Preferred

Master’s degree or higher in electrical engineering

7+ years of relevant design experience deploying utility scale power plants across the United States

Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of generation plants, nuclear plants, energy storage assets, and substations

Understanding of mechanical equipment and system design

Experience with fast track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade projects

Experience with Hyperscale Distributed Energy Projects such as Battery Energy Storage (BESS), Long Duration Energy Storage (LDES), Fuel Cells, Solar, and Wind

Experience with designing, deploying, operating utility scale power plants and interconnections

Possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, maintain high quality standards

Capable of working in a highly fast-paced, ambiguous environment, managing conflicting priorities and deliverables
