Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of concurrent design and construction projects
Preplan and determine funding avenues for projects by collaborating with clients, consultants, and agencies
Develop project scopes and objectives and coordinate all efforts – administrative and technical – to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects
Attend, participate in and lead client vision sessions
Develop new client relationships and work proactively to enhance existing partnerships
Assist the marketing team in the development of project proposals, as well as efforts to grow the business
Manage or oversee overall project schedules and budgets
Provide management of internal finances, which include billing, invoice generation and asset/resource allocation
Perform quality assurance/control on other's work, verifying methodologies, calculations, outcomes, etc.
Keep abreast of new scientific methods and developments affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes
Supervisory requirements, including recruitment and retention of talent including:
Engage and foster the growth of CPL team members. Provide encouragement and regular feedback; and serve as a mentor/example for all levels of the team.
Manage/oversee career conversations with your team on an established schedule (annual career conversations, regular check-ins, and the development of career plans for each team member)
Develop future leaders within the organization (train your replacement)
Engage, motivate, and lead internal and external stakeholders to develop strategies and plans to move the organization in the desired direction.
Influence people through effective communication
Promote justice, diversity and fairness in the organization

Required
Professional licensure (PE) is preferred
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and juggle critical tasks, seeing them through to completion while maintaining high design standards and adhering to established project timelines
You earned a BS (and/or MS) in civil engineering from an accredited institution and have at least twelve (12) years of related work experience – or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Thorough understanding of the foundational principles of engineering
In-depth knowledge of construction processes, plans and specifications, as well as their application and relevance to public works and construction projects
Ability to foster a creative engineering environment
Strong communication skills, (both written and verbal)
Ability to work across a wide range of areas within the building systems engineering discipline
Expertise in water and wastewater process design
