Responsibilities

Perform engineering analysis for the design of tunnels in soft ground, mixed conditions, and rock using various tunnel construction methods such as TBM, drill and blast, sequential excavation method SEM, including temporary/initial support and final lining.

Apply rock and soil mechanics skills to evaluate various failure modes and develop ground support schemes.

Interpret geotechnical and geological data, characterize ground classifications and derive engineering parameters.

Develop geotechnical design reports/memos and Contract Documents including drawings and specifications.

Coordinate with other disciplines and clients and attend design and progress meetings.

Perform numerical analysis using FLAC/FLAC3D, PLAXIS/PLAXIS 3D or other software.

Perform UNWEDGE and SWEDGE analysis.
