Responsibilities
Dispute Management including drafting letters, strategic advising, filing mechanic's liens, and providing general legal advice.
Management of Litigation including organizing evidence, reviewing agreements, managing outside counsel, and assisting in administrative hearings.
Subcontract Management including reviewing and negotiating subcontracts, resolving disputes, and managing payment rights.
Risk Management including managing insurance issues, communicating with regulatory agencies, and managing prevailing wage complaints.
Training including contract education for project team members and creating prime contract summaries.
Partnering and Associated Business Matters including drafting agreements, creating subsidiary companies, and advising on acquisitions.
Prime Contract Management including drafting letters of intent, reviewing contracts, and significant amendments.
Reporting on the status of negotiations and disputes, and on the legal budget.

Required
Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law in California, admitted to the California State Bar, and in good standing.
Minimum of ten years of experience as a practicing attorney.
Extensive Litigation experience.
Ability to communicate with other departments articulately, concisely, and with well-reasoned opinions, including communicating complex legal concepts to non-attorney team members in a concise yet thorough manner.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills.
Proven ability to oversee multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product.
Ability to work independently and determine creative solutions.
Preferred
Have a deep understanding of the California Public Contract, Civil, and Labor Codes and provide training to project teams as part of the Company's compliance program.
Have a deep understanding of California construction law and provide training to project teams regarding legal provisions impacting their work.
Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
