Responsibilities

Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
Solve problems confronting manufacturing performance by identifying Root Cause, implementing corrective actions, and sustaining improvements.
Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layouts for maximum efficiency.
Maintain an entrepreneurial spirit, take risks, celebrate successes, and take responsibility for actions and results.
Coach and mentor interns, new hires, and less tenured engineers.
Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs.
Proactively identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
Develop and maintain work standards supporting efficient staff and facility utilization.
Identify and execute opportunities to meet budgeted labor expectations.
Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange purchases.
Participate in the Company’s Six Sigma initiatives and Total Lean events.
Identify and lead continuous improvement projects using lean & six sigma principles.
Drive performance excellence through lean initiatives and waste elimination.
Promote a culture of waste identification and elimination using Lean Manufacturing concepts and Kaizen principles.
Willingness to travel, work extended hours, and weekends as required.

Required

Bachelor’s Degree, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Minimum of 5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in an engineering based lean, pull-type, reduced inventory products system.
Ideal candidate would be a “hands-on” person with shop floor experience.
Previous experience with Project Management, Automation integration, process development and improvement.
Proficiency in the use of technology including thorough understanding of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
