Responsibilities

Manages software engineers to design, build, and maintain solutions within a set of technology products and/or services.

Influences and establishes best-in-class engineering practices through solid design decisions.

Leverages DevOps tools to actively monitor and identify improvement opportunities.

Acts as a hands-on leader responsible for building highly scalable and readily available solutions.

Partners with Scrum teams to ensure plans align team capacity and increase team velocity.

Ensures alignment and support of diverse stakeholders by building and maintaining trusting relationships.

Designs solutions leveraging microservice architecture and event-driven API integration.

Provides input for departmental budget and forecasting, and manages expenses associated with initiatives.

Responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, support, and scalability of robust, reliable, and secure business and enterprise software solutions.

Leads team through all technology solution development phases by ensuring team adheres to company methodology, policies, standards, and controls.

Provides leadership to the team by attracting and hiring talented individuals, setting goals, providing feedback, managing performance, and sponsoring team members through change.

Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field)

8 years of IT experience

4 years of experience in software engineering or related field

5 years working on project(s) involving the implementation of software development life cycles (SDLC)

3 years of experience leading project or technical teams with or without formal direct report responsibility; this includes experience providing technical direction, thought leadership, coaching and mentoring to team members

Preferred

Master’s Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field

3 years of leadership experience with direct report responsibility

Experience managing operational and/or project financial budgets

IT consulting experience

Experience in IT Management in the retail industry

3 years of experience in software development in an agile environment

Experience working with 3rd party vendors and/or software solution providers

3 years working in an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework

Experience in an IT role requiring interaction with senior leadership
