Responsibilities

Contribute to building a system impacting the stability of financial markets and individual investors.

Participate in Agile technology team comprising DEV/QA/PO teams.

Engage in backend development in Python for a data calculations engine.

Maintain high standards for code quality and performance.

Solve complex technical challenges and create efficient, elegant code.

Collaborate effectively in an Agile team of engineers and QA.

Take ownership of project parts and constantly look for system improvements.

Communicate and collaborate well within the team and align with larger organizational objectives.

A Python expert with several years of proven object-oriented programming expertise and full-system development mentality

Understanding of code abstraction and architectural design patterns

Experience creating frameworks and libraries used by other teams

Detail-oriented with the ability to do precise mathematical calculations

Algorithm and/or mathematical computation skills

Strong team player focused on team success and aligning with larger organization objectives

Ownership of project parts and continuous improvement mindset

Effective communication and collaboration in Agile teams

Initiative-taking and delivery-focused

Comfortable working in large enterprise organizations on mission-critical software

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or equivalent work experience

Solid understanding of financial markets (stocks, bonds, ETFs, indexes)

10+ years of professional software engineering experience

Strong object-oriented design skills with experience in modular systems, code abstraction, and design patterns

Proficient in Python versions 3.9+ with expert level concepts

Strong Pandas and Numpy experience

Experience with creating command-line interface tools (CLI)

Ability to maintain detailed unit tests and large test suites

Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline processes with Jenkins experience preferred

Experience building distributed Python packages and containerized applications using Docker

AWS cloud infrastructure experience including ECR, ECS, S3

Preferred

Experience in other object-oriented languages like Java, C++

Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines
