Responsibilities

Research, track, and understand new web technologies to provide technical leadership in developing service applications and analyzing business requirements pertaining to intranet and external Internet-related systems

Responsible for the system (not content of company material), utilizing experience with a variety of network technologies to lead internal and external clients with internet, intranet, or extranet-based applications including Java, JavaScript, XML, HTML, ASP, Git, database interactions, and data modeling tools

Builds applications using internet and windows development tools

Provides written design documents, test plans and test results

Manages, develops, integrates, and implements related applications components including front-end development, server-side development, and database integration

Plays a direct role in programming, maintenance, technical support, documentation, and administration of the applications

Establishes and communicates standards to manage cost and ensure continuity of applications

May work with outside vendors in developing tests to ensure feature functionality

Suggests technical alternatives and improves and streamlines processes and systems

Completes project assignments and special projects commensurate with job expectations

Conducts planning, analysis, and forecasting activities to plan projects and tasks

May provide leadership and/or guidance to other technical professionals

Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked or Internet-related computer programs

Interacts with product managers and/or users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications

Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements

Required

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience

Knowledge of financial services industry

Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles, e.g., waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches to software development

Knowledge of standards relevant to the software industry, e.g., ISO, CMM, Six Sigma

Knowledge of banking practices, regulations, and operations within assigned line(s) of business

In-depth understanding of design patterns and their application

Fluency in developing and understanding sequence diagrams, class models, etc.

Proficiency in solutions design and requirements definition disciplines leveraging model driven design-based tools and techniques including conceptual solution component models, business process models, use cases, etc.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors

Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team and time management skills
