Responsibilities

Monitor heat treatment operations to ensure compliance with internal procedures and customer requirements.
Provide guidance to thermal processing shop personnel and develop training and procedures on heat treatment processes.
Disposition production non-conformances related to heat treat processes.
Research and implement new heat treatment technologies for cost savings and process improvements.
Develop technical training programs for materials, processes, and analytical interpretation.
Support process development and implementation projects for global customers.
Assist in recruitment, motivation, training, and development of staff to meet M&PE objectives.

Required

BS with 6 years related experience or MS with 4 years related experience in one of the following fields: Materials/Metallurgy, Industrial and Mechanical with extensive knowledge on steel heat treatment processes and equipment.
Familiarity or experience with either chemical and heat treatment NADCAP compliance and with AMS 2750 pyrometry requirements and compliance.
Must have a strong fundamental knowledge of metallurgy and microstructures and familiar with material characterization and failure analysis techniques.
Preferable industry experience with vacuum furnaces, and vacuum carburizing processing plus machine controls and instrumentation.
Capable of performing metallurgical testing.
Experience interfacing with engineering, manufacturing, and production personnel.

Experience with heat treatment
Prior experience in the Aerospace field
