Business Development Manager

Responsibilities
Develop and nurture relationships with qualified leads identified through Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and Sales Development Representatives.
Proactively seek new opportunities within targeted market segments, including mid-market life sciences, large pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.
Cultivate prospects from tradeshows, industry meetings, and existing industry relationships.
Ensure continued engagement with existing prospects to secure future business.
Identify and qualify prospect accounts with a high probability of closing.
Leverage tools such as CRM, Zymewire, LinkedIn, and email to cultivate leads.
Maintain a multi-quarter pipeline of early-stage leads.
Follow corporate processes for prospect follow-up using approved documents, collateral, and templates.
Travel across North America for client meetings, tradeshows, and other events.
Collaborate with the Project Management team for smooth account transitions post-close of agreements.
Thrive in a team-based environment, contributing to collective success.

Required
Experience: Minimum 5 years of Business Development experience within a Contract Research Organization (CRO) or clinical Electronic Data Capture (EDC) vendor, selling to Pharma, CROs, or BioTech companies.
Education: A college diploma is required.
Sales Track Record: Demonstrated ability to generate business opportunities from prospects and achieve sales targets.
Lead Generation Savvy: Strong lead generation capabilities. Clear understanding of social networking platforms and able to network at industry events.
Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented and organized.
Adaptability: Eagerness to learn new skills and technology.
Public Speaking: Comfortable with public speaking engagements, such as being a panelist at tradeshows or delivering presentations. Able to communicate and prepare compelling business presentations.
Travel: Able to travel across North America and globally.
Preferred
Education: University degree is preferred.
