Responsibilities
Lead design and support resource for the Business Intelligence team, managing Tableau instance, data sources, and dashboards.
Support and advise on Tableau Cloud and Desktop for the company.
Collaborate with data engineering and Business Intelligence teams to tune data sources from various platforms.
Assist in migrating legacy information from Tableau Server deployment to Tableau Cloud.
Develop and document system designs, performance test results, and technical aspects of Tableau implementation and integrations.
Monitor, tune, and optimize performance of the platform, data sources, and dashboards.
Create best practice guides and assist in their implementation.
Identify and address performance issues like slow workbooks, disk usage, and license allocations.
Manage change management and deployment of new data sources and dashboards.
Collaborate with other teams to design and implement integrations with Tableau's API.
Work with technical architects and engineers to ensure optimal application and data design for reporting requirements.

Required
5+ years of relevant experience
Familiarity with migrating from Tableau Server to Tableau Cloud
Performance engineering: Focus on performance tuning, testing, and capacity planning both within Tableau and data source systems like Snowflake
Conviction in what you recommend: comfort and ease in educating and guiding internal stakeholders
Client-Centric: Experience owning engagements and providing best practice advice. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage expectations and internal stakeholder requirements
Experience with different database engines - Postgres, SqlServer, MySQL and public cloud database solutions
Excellent written communication, problem solving, and process management skills
Preferred
Interest or experience developing Tableau extensions or other applications strongly preferred
Hands on experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Azure technologies at scale strongly preferred
Experience building out monitoring and observability platforms (Grafana, Kibana, CloudWatch, DataDog, New Relic, etc. strongly preferred
