Responsibilities
User Experience, Interaction and Visual Design: You will be guiding the full product development lifecycle from ideation to design sprints, from wireframes to dev-ready, pixel-perfect designs.
Prototyping: You will translate user research and product stories into high-resolution mockups to sell and validate early product ideas.
User Research: You will collaborate with Distyl's AI Strategists and Engineers to uncover what users need and how best to communicate that information to them.
Design System Development: As an early-stage startup, our design language is still a work in progress, you'll help shape how this comes together.
Workflow Design: Some of our systems have conversational interfaces, helping define how AI should interact with humans in expected and unexpected pathways is key. We are looking for someone who can help us move beyond the traditional chat interface.

Required
A history of having designed delightful software products: Going from early ideations to shipped software in a short time is our goal; you have >4 years of experience.
Figma expert: We want a high level of proficiency using Figma with experience creating realistic-looking Figma prototypes.
An iterative design process: We're working in a new and unknown space, so our first ideas will likely be wrong. We get to the right place through quick iterations on direct user feedback.
Desire to move fast and collaborate across roles: Our company is small, Distyllers wear many hats as we build out the team.
Good visual design sensibilities: A strong understanding of fonts, color, and information hierarchy.
User empathy and customer focus: A deep sense of user empathy and a customer-obsessed approach, ensuring that solutions are not only technically sound, but also closely aligned with customer needs and experiences.
