Responsibilities

Develop scope, schedule, and fee to submit and negotiate assignments with clients.
Work with CobbFendley’s risk management team to negotiate contracts.
Identify subconsultants, material providers, suppliers, etc., and initiate subcontracts, POs, and company accounts, with CobbFendley’s subcontracts team and accounting as required on projects.
Work with subcontractors on their scope, fee, and budget and manage the subcontractor invoices and subcontract closeout.
Work individually or with project teams of varying size and complexity to deliver projects on time and within budget while achieving the project objectives including quality control.
Work proficiently in VantagePoint (CobbFendley’s financial management software) to open new projects, manage project financial performance throughout the lifecycle, and close projects.
Write invoice progress reports to manage invoice payment and accounts receivables to minimize days sales outstanding. Perform and submit monthly project invoicing (reviews and approvals).
Perform quality control review of completed designs and other project tasks, including preliminary engineering reports (PER), layouts/schematics, plans and specifications, and cost estimates.
Use existing and develop relationships with clients, partners, and local organizations to gain an understanding of new business opportunities for CobbFendley.
Work with the Marketing Department, local leadership, and resources around the company to win new work and grow the company backlog including proposal preparation efforts.
Adhere to CobbFendley’s safety program including identifying safety hazards, completing training requirements, utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE), and developing required Project Safety Plans and Job Safety Hazard (JSA) forms, etc.
Travel to CobbFendley offices, client offices, and project locations will be required as needed.
Collaborate with professionals and clients to increase our industry knowledge. Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity consistent with industry standards.
Commit to strategic initiatives that drive our focus as a nationally recognized, regionally powerful infrastructure consulting firm that grows in expertise, influence, and community impact. Be self-motivated to work in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines to meet our client’s needs.
Community involvement by investing in meaningful relationships to remain a trusted resource to see projects through from concept to completion.
Apply technical expertise and project management experience to manage project teams on conventional and unconventional projects.
Perform basic project functions of production coordination, planning, organizing, directing, controlling, financial management and marketing assistance.
Function as a mentor to project engineers and technical professionals to assist in their technical training and development.
Perform quality control review of completed designs and other project tasks, including preliminary engineering reports (PER), layouts/schematics, plans and specifications and cost estimates.
Professionally represent CobbFendley at client meetings and performing client coordination.
Complete training to meet company safety standards.
Work in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
Perform independent research and adapt to changing priorities.
Be self-motivated to work in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines.
Be committed to performing tasks and carrying out your responsibilities consistent with industry standards to achieve department and company goals.
Develop relationships with clients, partners, and local organizations to remain a trusted resource in the community.
Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Required

Bachelor of Science in a relevant Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
15+ years of Structural Engineering experience
P.E. license in the State of Texas or ability to gain that license within 3 months
Experience designing bridges to TxDOT standards for heavy transportation projects with multi-level interchange experience
Experience with underground drainage structures and every type of retaining wall
Experience interacting with clients
Must have excellent team management, PS&E, and marketing skills to serve our clients, such as the State, Cities, Counties and HCTRA
Candidate must have TxDOT RFQ experience, being listed as a Project Manager is a plus
Motivated to learn in a dynamic environment with short deadlines
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
