Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Director of the Project Management Office and project sponsors, defines project objectives, develops the project plans, and monitors progress.
Manages changes to project plan, schedule, cost, and scope.
Identifies critical path decisions and communications to project partners.
Meets with stakeholders to validate business cases and to gather facts for establishing and gaining agreement on project charters.
Crafts project charters to validate and clarify issues, rationalize use of project resources, and anticipate risks.
Conducts project management research and studies trends and developments under the guidance of the Director of PMO to support PMO team members and industry colleagues.
Uses PM tools to handle project timelines and accuracy, to ensure project resource commitments are met, and to follow activities and variances.
Prepares monthly System Advancement Work Plan of projects for distribution to campus leadership and key partners.
Ensure vendors deliver according to contractual agreements and project requirements
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers
Find opportunities for process improvements within the PMO and implement standard methodologies
Conduct post-project reviews and document lessons learned to improve future project performance

Required
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education or equivalent professional experience. (The educational requirement may be substituted with professional experience on a year-for-year basis)
One (1) years of experience related to project management
Project Management experience in both leading small projects and supporting larger initiatives.
Interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to address a wide variety of audiences.
Ability to efficiently engage and influence cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated diplomacy, influence, relationship building, and problem-solving skills in a variety of situations.
Experience successfully managing program/project plans to deliver in scope, on time, and in budget.
Experience managing programs with multiple program sponsors.
Familiarity with project management software tools and standard methodologies.
Familiarity with case management or ticking software tools and standard methodologies.
Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems creatively.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet personal and team goals
Strong presentation and facilitation skills
Deep understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best processes (e.g., PMI, Agile, Scrum)
Ability to think strategically and align project objectives with organizational goals
Ability to anticipate and proactively address potential project issues or roadblocks
Ability to negotiate and resolve issues constructively
Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements
Preferred
A bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of Project Management experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Three (3) years of related experience
Experience with similar work in a higher-education, healthcare, non-profit, and/or advancement setting
Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software, particularly Salesforce or other higher education constituent database software
Experience working in a tiered service model
