Responsibilities

Responsible for the full cycle of software development, from architecture design to implementation of custom opto-mechanical tooling, facilitating experiment while maturing the software to the final product

Troubleshoot a variety of difficult software problems. Perform software tests on code and enhancements.

Perform and document engineering reports under direct supervision

Collaborating with other engineers to deploy new databases or create new data flow to facilitate the operational automation. Engaging with other internal teams to integrate your applications with theirs.

Required

Candidate must hold an advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a similar field.

Extended experience in C++, Python, computer vision, embedded development, multithreading, real-time application, web service, and source control.

Worked or Contributed to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems.

Experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL databases, database migration, creation of objects in SQL, NoSQL.

Experience in data visualization and machine learning.

Preferred

Robotics or optics project experience is a plus.

Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines.

Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.

Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

Impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within own team and other related teams; works within broad guidelines and policies.

Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
