Responsibilities
Lead positively and optimistically cultivating excellent employee engagement while setting clear expectations, measuring performance, providing feedback, and taking preventative and correction action when needed
Works with employees to create and complete robust development plans focusing on their professional growth and abilities to complete a variety of engineering tasks and projects while continuously improving efficiency and accuracy
Mentor and coach non-technical & technical personnel to technical solutions
Assign and complete Engineering Changes (ECs) to change existing parts/products; determine the effects of the change on the products performance as well as on manufacturing; update the inspection and manufacturing documentation and processes to support the changes
Identify and manage an annual funnel of innovation to value (i2v) projects to meet the annual savings target
Provide engineering technical expertise in the areas of documentation, specifications, product maintenance, raw materials, and vended products throughout the organization
Develop and maintain procedures and methods to ensure ISO and applicable industry standards for products, testing and documentation are met
Supports new product introduction efforts utilizing Ingersoll Rand Product Development Process (IRPDP) and Engineered to Order (ETO process)
Ensure the completion of project milestones/deliverables within committed Quality, Delivery, Project Cost and Product Cost, track performance and progress of project against committed targets
Drive completion of typical engineering documentation including bills of material (BOMs), 3D model changes, drawing changes, test specifications, lab reports, etc.
Adhere to all SBU, Country and National codes / Standards for Project/Product development
Plan and manage annual departmental budget
Relentless effort to resolve all quality, warranty, and field problems expeditiously. Manage activities through Ingersoll Rand quality systems.
Ensures workplace safety and workplace organization (5S)

Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent degreed engineering background such as Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, etc.)
Minimum Of 7 Years Of Relevant Engineering Experience
Demonstrated people leadership experience
Demonstrated strong verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment required
A broad knowledge of manufacturing processes in casting (i.e. sand castings, grey iron, precision), Machining (i.e. lathes, mills, CNC machining centers, de-burring), welding, etc.
US Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident
Fully site based
Travel to customer and supplier sites (<10%), both local and international is required occasionally to gain insight into customer applications, audit suppliers, and to provide technical support for sales and service
Preferred
Experience using SolidWorks, Windchill, Adept, and JD Edwards is preferred; able to visualize and articulate product function fundamentals at both component and system levels.
